The York Cultural Festival, held at the York City Auditorium on Sunday, was a lively celebration of diversity, arts, and music. The event featured vibrant performances from groups such as African Culture Connection, Garan Coons & Family, and Folkloric Dance, delighting attendees with a rich display of cultural expression.
This was the first event of its kind in York, organized by the York Chamber of Commerce, the York Creative District, and the Nebraska Creative District programs. Additional involvement came from the York University Study Abroad program and the York University Better Together Group, further enriching the event. Organizers explained that the festival aimed to celebrate the many cultures within the community and create a space for building connections across diverse backgrounds. The immersive experience encouraged audience participation, with music, dancing, vendors, and food trucks offering unique products and cuisines for all to enjoy. It was a memorable, family-friendly event that perfectly capped off the vibrant Yorkfest weekend of 2024.
